Dr. Pech is an applied microeconomist specializing in behavioral economics, experimental economics, game theory, and judgment and decision making. Prior to serving as associate dean of the Stillman School of Business, Dr. Pech was the chair of the Economics, Finance and Marketing department at Tennessee Technological University, and a faculty member in the economics department at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.
His research combines theoretical models and laboratory experiments to investigate different aspects of human behavior, such as social preferences, trust and reciprocity, rationality, strategic interactions and risk attitudes. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Massachusetts and his B.A. in economics from the Federal University of Parana in Brazil.
Dr. Pech has taught courses on game theory, behavioral economics, econometrics, analytical decision-making, quantitative critical thinking, economics of education, economics of crime, and sports economics.
