  • Manage the health and illness of patients based upon analysis of findings from health histories, physical examination, developmental and behavioral assessments.
  • Formulate the complex clinical judgments needed to initiate, manage, and evaluate culturally competent primary health care across the lifespan.
  • Communicate diagnoses and therapeutic plans in a succinct and concise manner with supporting rationale.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals in designing, implementing and evaluating patient-centered primary health care of individuals and families.
  • Provide advanced nursing care to clients incorporating cultural/social determinates of health, pathophysiologic and pharmacotherapeutic principles.
  • Collaborate with the client/family and health care team to create mutually acceptable therapeutic outcomes.
  • Lead intra- and interdisciplinary teams to improve healthcare.
  • Be prepared to sit for the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exams through ANCC and AANPCB.
