Internship and Career Success
For nearly 160 years, Seton Hall University has provided a nurturing, caring and supportive academic community which fosters the intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth of our students.
At Seton Hall, we believe in empowering all students to discover their unique calling right from the start. We do this by offering exceptional career development services and opportunities. Our dedicated, 12-member career counseling staff provides guidance and mentorship beginning in your freshman year. They identify the best careers for you, provide workshops, develop your resume, hone your interview skills and help you network.
The Career Center is committed to helping you find — and advance — your career. Together with faculty, employer and alumni networks, we provide a practical learning environment to ensure that our students are prepared for professional success.
We offer more than 17,000 internship opportunities and over 81 percent of our students have an internship or two on their resume before graduation. And 98 percent of these internship providers say they would hire their Seton Hall intern for regular employment if they had an opening. In fact, Seton Hall was recently named one of the top 5 universities for internships by International Business Times alongside Duke and the University of Pennsylvania.
Because of our stellar national reputation, more than 550 employers visit campus every year just to recruit our graduates, including the Big Four accounting firms, ESPN, Barclay's Capital, Johnson and Johnson, the FBI, Verizon and Prudential. This is just one reason we boast an employment rate that is 20 percent higher than the national average.
Seton Hall's national reputation and stellar academic programs give us an edge and make us a powerhouse when it comes to job placement. Our alumni are vice presidents, CEOs and CFOs at major multinational corporations like Oppenheimer, Citibank and Merrill Lynch; they fill the halls of the United Nations, the State Department and the FBI; they lead the way in patient care in hospitals across the country; they make a difference as legislators, judges, school superintendents, principals and teachers.
Seton Hall alumni also serve as mentors to our current students. They're in the trenches in the real world — working at Goldman Sachs, L'Oreal, Morgan Stanley, American Express, Toyota, Madison Square Garden, Panasonic, NBC and SiriusXM Satellite Radio to name just a few — so they know exactly what's needed for career success. As a student at Seton Hall, you'll have regular contact with our alumni network; they will guide you in your career endeavors, help you make important connections, build your resume and advise you as you choose internships and ultimately a full-time job. Many of our alumni also recruit Seton Hall students for internships and full-time work after graduation.
