Seton Hall Esports Player Departures

As the Spring 2024 season comes to a close, Seton Hall Esports bids farewell to seven key players who have significantly contributed to building the program's strong foundation. Although their departure marks an end of an era, the teams are poised to continue their legacy and strive for greater successes in future seasons.

Ryan "IvernedThisRank" Kijevcanin  

Ryan "IvernedThisRank" KijevcaninAs the League of Legends team captain, Ryan's expertise guided the Pirates to numerous BIG EAST Playoffs, securing two championship titles and several silver medal finishes. Ryan is leaving a lasting mark on BIG EAST Esports history as one of the conference's top junglers. During his tenure, Ryan eagerly shared his knowledge and inspired his teammates. 

 


Garret "YouLackStyle" Belardi 

Garret "YouLackStyle" Belardi Garret, who gained a reputation during his 2022 interview when he boldly predicated an undefeated run after being asked about the League of Legends team's potential for continued dominance. His exceptional gameplay with champions Ahri and Syndra in the Midlane became iconic on the Summoner’s Rift and was crucial in securing the 2022 Big East Championship Title.


Noah "N0ah" Ferro  

Noah "N0ah" FerroNoah, Seton Hall's second-ever esports team captain, has seen the Pirates through numerous challenges, including two tough seasons and the transition to NACE's new league and format. Embracing these changes with optimism and determination, Noah led the SSBU squad to a remarkable turnaround. Under his leadership, the team became a powerhouse in the new conference, clinching Seton Hall's first-ever SSBU championship title. In his final season, Noah guided the team through an undefeated regular season and achieved a second-place finish.


Tyler Campobasso   

Tyler CampobassoTyler, the Pirates' League of Legends manager, played a crucial role in the team's operations. He oversaw the scheduling of practices and scrims, and ensured that the gaming lab was always prepared for his fellow Pirates. Known for his helpful nature, Tyler has been a constant presence with the team through many transitions.


Eduardo "Eggy" Martinez 

Eduardo "Eggy" Martinez Eduardo, the Pirates' Rocket League manager, was pivotal in organizing practices and scrims, and ensuring the gaming lab was always prepared for his teammates. Additionally, he demonstrated versatility by stepping in as a substitute player during the 2023-2024 season, rapidly climbing the ranks, and providing valuable support to his team on and off the virtual pitch.


Carlos "Caroner" Buelvas

Carlos "Caroner" Buelvas

Carlos has been an invaluable asset to the Esports program, serving in many roles including as the social media manager. Carlos has demonstrated remarkable versatility from videographer to photographer, editor, commentator, and even a member of the Overwatch team during their club days. His leadership in reimagining the esports social media strategy has garnered recognition from fellow Pirates and industry leaders, including the CEO of Razer, who shared one of Carlos's videos on his Instagram account.


Gabriel "Guap" Fernandez 

Gabriel "Guap" FernandezGabriel may have had a short stint with Seton Hall Esports, but his willingness to embrace new practice strategies, optimism, and eagerness to learn made him invaluable. Throughout his time with the team, Gabriel consistently demonstrated his dedication and team spirit, leaving an impression on his teammates.


As the Seton Hall Esports teams progress, they express gratitude for the departing players' contributions and aim to build upon their achievements to uphold Seton Hall University's reputation. The entire Seton Hall Esports program extends warm wishes to the departing players for success in their future endeavors.
