Information Technology Management

From hacked emails to global cyber attacks, IT issues often make headlines—and they're of great concern to businesses, too.

This concentration prepares students to become strong managers and leaders in IT. Our graduates work in high-profile organizations—Bank of America, CIT and Prudential—in positions such as business analyst, consultant, software development specialist and network administrator.

Our program combines a strong core curriculum with electives that let you map your own path, and we keep the whole thing streamlined to just 40 credits. We welcome both full- and part-time students, and we offer small and flexible classes to accommodate your schedule.

STEM Designated Program

By 2028 it is estimated that there will be more than a million jobs in the STEM field. In preparation, this STEM-designated program will equip you to utilize technology, data and business analytics to make effective business decisions and solve complex business problems.

The STEM designation offers an additional benefit by allowing international students to apply to extend their 12-month optional practical training (OPT) by an additional 24 months.

What Can You Do With an MBA in Information Technology?

With an MBA in Information Technology (IT), you're at the crossroads of business strategy and technological innovation, primed to tackle the challenges of today's digital-centric business landscape. Graduates can take on roles like IT Manager, Systems Analyst, IT Project Manager, or Chief Information Officer, overseeing the integration of technology solutions to drive business objectives. There's also scope in emerging domains like cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI), where professionals can leverage their combined business and IT acumen. As consultants, they can advise firms on technology investments and digital transformation strategies. Beyond specific IT roles, the broader skill set of an MBA enables graduates to work in tech-focused strategy, operations, or even entrepreneurial ventures, launching tech startups or innovative digital platforms.

Curriculum

As an M.B.A. student at Seton Hall, expect small class sizes and dynamic discussions with faculty and industry professionals.

With a focus on an ethics-centered education, our M.B.A. starts with a core curriculum that covers accounting, economics, the behavioral and quantitative sciences, and the functional areas of business.

To round out your business education, you'll select several electives from a field in the MBA curriculum other than IT management. No more than two courses may come from the same discipline.

At the end of the program, you'll have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained and consult with an actual client in our M.B.A. consulting course.
