K-12 School Administration

The doctoral degree program in Education Leadership is designed to provide administrative and supervisory skills for potential and practicing administrators in elementary, secondary and higher education institutions in New Jersey as well as other state department of Education settings. The program focuses on training informed leaders through the utilization of scholarly research and theoretical models which are applied to experiential situations.

The Weekend Cohort Program

The weekend cohort model of the Ed.D. in Education Leadership is comprised of a cadre of highly qualified students that meet on campus in an interactive, group-centered environment for each course during two full weekends per semester with the exception of research and statistics (3 weekends). A majority of the courses are co-taught by two leading professors in the Education Leadership, Management and Policy department and, in most cases, will include independent work between weekends in a format designed by the professors.

  • A superior academic record (official transcripts from all institutions attended) including receipt of a master’s degree in an appropriate field
  • Current professional vitae/resume 
  • Letter of intent explaining your reasons for applying 
  • Statement of personal and professional goals
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation 

Tuition Support 

A 25% discount will apply to this cohort program based on regular tuition at the time of enrollment. This reduction makes the per-credit tuition cost comparable to certain public universities, and less than other private institutions in New Jersey. Financial aid information is available and we are happy to assist you with the process. 

Faculty

The faculty in the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media are expert researchers and practitioners in teacher and leader preparation as well as professional psychology and family therapy. Many are actively engaged with schools and community agencies, modeling best practices to their students in the university classroom and in the field.
